Sister: noun, (sĭs′tər) — a person willing to share a fleece blanket and a banana before a race in below freezing weather at 7:30am on a weekend.

For our February Race, we ran the Cupid Chase supporting Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer. We may have failed to overtake Cupid, but it’s still a win!

Joshua ran with us too. Scott missed out on this one due to a Krav Maga advancement test (which he PASSED).

Last month, we asked ourselves, “What better way to get ready for an old-fashioned Christmas than running a 5k with 1,000 other Atlantans all wearing ugly sweaters?”
We loved this cheesy/merry race. The giant inflatable Santa, Christmas tunes, and free Odwalla smoothies put us in the hap-hap-happiest of moods!
I represented with a Hannukah sweater (they never specified it had to be a ugly Christmas sweater!), while Scott rocked that hat & a Star Wars sweater, and Carol Anne sported a “meowy Christmas” look complete with light-up green tutu.
2/3rds of the way through the run we happened upon the Piedmont Park beehives. Naturally, we had to stop to say hi to the ladies!
Our finisher’s medals are shaped like ugly holiday sweaters.
Another race down! That makes 3 months in a row (including this race, and this one). Wonder how long will we keep this going? You’ll have to keep checking back to find out!

This past weekend my sister Carol Anne, my husband Scott, and I all ran our first RunDisney event! We completed Mickey’s Holiday 5k, which is a part of RunDisney’s Wine & Dine Marathon weekend.

Since it’s RunDisney, running in costume was an absolute MUST for both Carol Anne and I. Approximately 70% of the participants ran in costume; most of them holiday-themed or well-known Disney characters. We chose Belle and Minnie Mouse, with floral headpieces to top off the look. Continue reading

This past weekend, we ran our first Flavor Run 5k!
Carol Anne, Scott and I picked out this 5k as a “training run” as we get ready for our Disney Race in November. We had so much fun with the Flavor Fairy & crew that we’re already planning to run it again next year!
