{Gratitude Lately}

Lately I’ve been grateful for back-to-back pottery classes in this space.

For early morning espresso crafted by my favorite barista.

And that he never asks me hard questions until 20mins after my first sip.

For travel memories of distant places.

And for brave hearts that are learning to live adventurously.

Happy Thursday, brave ones. You’re almost to the weekend!

We have definitely been enjoying Michael Pollan’s 4 part series Cooked. It’s got Scott wanting to bake this bread and I want to eat some moldy cheese

Description: through the lenses of the four natural elements – fire, water, air and earth – COOKED is an enlightening and compelling look at the evolution of what food means to us through the history of food preparation and its universal ability to connect us. Highlighting our primal human need to cook, the series urges a return to the kitchen to reclaim our lost traditions and to forge a deeper, more meaningful connection to the ingredients and cooking techniques that we use to nourish ourselves.

You can find the the series on Netflix. Happy watching (and eating), friends!

Lately I’ve been grateful for songs on this banjo.

For a few more chilly days to wear my warm coat before winter is over.

For pottery class and the clean, earthy messiness of wet clay on my hands.

For tiny letters.

And for kind-hearted strangers willing to let a child hold their new puppy for a while, just because they see her eyes fill with delight.

Happy Thursday, sweet friends! What have you been grateful for lately?

{Savannah}

Savannah is our green eyed princess cat.

She turned up skinny and hungry in my parents’ bushes sometime in 2011, and promptly climbed into the first lap she could find (“Hi, Aunt Carol Anne!”). After a few days of initial fattening, she happily went to live with Scott in rural south Georgia, while Mama worked hard at nursing school 4 hours away. This explains her Daddy’s Girl ‘tude.

Savannah likes napping in the sun, cussin’ at birds outside her window, fluffy cat beds, and snuggles. She does not like dogs, strangers, or people-food thank you very much.
